Yo, whats up everyone?

I made this blog with the hope of spreading my opinion about the current state of hip-hop to more than just my friends. Reading hip-hop sites these days is depressing, they tell you that shit hip-hop is hot and don't talk about the truly hot shit that isn't getting much attention. While I realize that this blog has little hope of ever reaching out and touching anyone, the few who do benefit from it will be enough to please me.

I'm your average white kid who grew up in the suburbs and really shouldn't be in love with this music. But I am. My name is Jon, I'm currently 19 years old, live in New Jersey and am attending college. I've been a fan of hip-hop for just about all my life, hell, my first CD I ever bought was a 2PAC CD. I'm not gonna go around acting like the wigger that I could be, cause that's not me. But what I am, is a someone who realizes that hip-hop right now needs a breath of fresh air. Something that can break the mold of the "Soulja Boys". Not to knock Soulja Boy for what he has done, dude is a great artist in his own respect. But I'm a true fan of lyrical hip-hop that really makes you sit down and listen to it just in the hope that you can catch every word of what is said. To me, that is what hip-hop is. Not Swag Surfin.

In this blog I will be reviewing Albums and Mixtapes, giving you guys hip-hop recommendations and stating my opinion about whats hot and what is truly shit. I'm not here to shove my opinion down your throats and say, "this is hip-hop, everything else isn't". If you disagree, so be it. But I know what I'm talking about when it comes to lyrical rap and sadly most of the shit out there now has little hope of getting me wet.
